Adam Carver

When were you part of SOSage Factory, and what shows were you involved in?
I think around 2001-2004? My first show was Honk! where I was cast as an ugly bullfrog (I didn't take it too personally).

What are you doing now?
I work as an artist, singer, producer and occasional actor (whatever pays the bills) - I run a small arts organisation in Birmingham called Fatt Projects. I'm currently touring my original choral show 'Congregational' around the UK (we're coming to Birmingham Town Hall in Feb 2027), and I recently appeared as Puck in Midsummer Night's Dream at Birmingham Rep.

What did being part of SOSage Factory mean to you? Are there any particular memories, friendships or experiences that have stayed with you?
Maybe more than anything I felt like I'd found other people my age who were like me, which was such a relief!

Do you think being part of the youth theatre has had an impact on where you are today? If so, how?
My secondary school didn't have a lot of opportunities for theatre (There wasn't a school play or a musical until my final year, and drama was only taught at GCSE level). SOSage gave me the agency to start doing things for myself, and to be a part of something way more exciting than being a young member of an adult theatre group where you were often just in the background.

What would you say to a young person thinking about joining Solihull Youth Theatre today?
Give it a go, and see what happens.
